As its name implies, Camelot is an idyllic, pleasing and picturesque spot of natural simplicity and happiness. Truly, the spirit of King Arthur must be hovering over this place, blissfully forgetting the time gap of 15 centuries and the distance of thousands of miles. The camp-home is far enough to shut out the hustle and bustle of Munnar town and close enough to reach it in 15 minutes flat in a jeep/bike.
Just wandering in and around the resort premises, you can sight dozens of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. Animals like elephants, bison, wild dogs and wild boars are often sighted in the mornings and evenings. Birds like black birds, kites, hornbills and many smaller varieties are frequent visitors. Rare insects like the Atlas Moth are seen in abundance. Wild orchids, giant tree ferns, rhododendrons, etc. are also in plenty around the place.
